So beautiful. Its even more impressive that this young man is 19 years old. So eloquent. But in all honesty, how closed minded do you have to be to have no emotional response to that speech?

This picture was taken at Moogfest 2011 in Asheville, NC. It was in between Amon Tobin and STS9 in the Asheville Civic Center.  Something I really liked about the STS9 performance (and most of the Moogfest performances in general) in the different visual elements that were integrated into their performance. In addition to variety of images that were projected onto the huge orbs that hung from the ceiling, STS9 had live acrobats on silks hanging from either side of the stage. What was even better is that they were behind screens with lights shining behind them so that their silhouette was enlarged for the enormous audience to see. I LOVED IT! and I am pretty sure everyone else did too. Nothing better than having an incredible live performance to accompany an incredible musical performance. Definitely a highlight of my weekend.

This is why I want to help orchestrate festivals so badly, or any event for that matter. The opportunity to take a blank canvas and put together something amazing.

I am very excited for my first official festival season. Hopefully I can turn this blog into a documentation of my festival adventures and other interesting events going on around the world.
